BIRD REHABILITATION
Our mission is to rescue animals in need, mitigate human-animal conflict, and foster awareness about wildlife and environmental conservation within communities.
At Animal Warriors Conservation Society (AWCS), we believe that every bird deserves a chance to fly free. With Hyderabad witnessing rapid urbanization, countless birds are falling victim to man-made threats such as glass collisions, electrocution, pollution, shrinking wetlands, and the deadly menace of kite strings during festivals. To address this growing crisis, AWCS established Telangana’s first and only exclusive Bird Rehabilitation Center – a dedicated facility for the rescue, treatment, recovery, and release of injured birds.
Bird Rehabilitation and Awareness Center (BRAC)
The Bird Rehabilitation and Awareness Center, established by Animal Warriors Conservation Society (AWCS), is Telangana’s first and only dedicated center for injured, distressed, and endangered birds. Located near Hyderabad, the center serves as a safe haven where birds receive rescue, medical treatment, rehabilitation, and a second chance to fly free.
Why Bird Rehabilitation Matters
Birds are vital to maintaining a balanced ecosystem. They control pests, pollinate plants, disperse seeds, and maintain biodiversity. Unfortunately, human activities have put immense pressure on their survival. Each year, thousands of birds in and around Hyderabad suffer injuries that, without timely intervention, lead to death.
Urbanization and human activities have severely impacted bird populations in Telangana. Every year, thousands of birds fall victim to:
- Animals trapped in bore wells, farm wells, or deep pits.
- Kite strings (manja) during Sankranti festivals
- Glass window collisions and power lines
- Injuries or Sickness
- Orphaned or Misplaced Chicks
- Heatwaves, starvation, and dehydration

Without timely help, these injuries often lead to suffering and death. The Bird Rehabilitation and Awareness Center provides immediate care, ensuring these precious creatures can heal and return to their natural habitats.
What We Do
At the Bird Rehabilitation and Awareness Center, we offer:
- 24/7 bird rescue operations across Hyderabad and Telangana.
- Veterinary treatment & surgeries for fractures, wounds, and infections.
- Safe rehabilitation enclosures for recovery in stress-free environments.
- Release programs to help birds adapt back into the wild.
- Awareness campaigns & workshops to reduce human-caused bird injuries.

Every rescued bird is a story of hope, survival, and freedom. By supporting the Bird Rehabilitation and Awareness Center, you are directly contributing to urban biodiversity conservation and ensuring future generations enjoy a city alive with the songs of birds.
Awareness at BRAC
At Animal Warriors Conservation Society (AWCS), we believe that true conservation starts with education and community participation. Our Bird Rehabilitation & Awareness Center is not only a rescue hub but also a platform to spread knowledge, inspire action, and build a compassionate society for urban wildlife. By engaging schools, colleges, and local communities, we ensure that every individual becomes a guardian of nature.
What We Do
Workshops for Schools & Colleges
We organize interactive workshops and seminars on bird conservation to educate young minds about the importance of protecting urban bird species. Students learn about common threats such as habitat loss, pollution, and kite-string injuries, while also discovering simple steps they can take to safeguard these vital creatures.
Awareness Drives
Kite Festivals bring joy, but they can also pose dangers to birds. Through awareness drives during kite-flying festivals, we highlight the devastating effects of manja (glass-coated thread) on birds. Our campaigns encourage responsible celebrations that minimize harm to urban wildlife.
Citizen Engagement Campaigns
We empower communities with citizen science programs and neighborhood campaigns that promote the protection of local bird populations. From tree planting to safe waste disposal, every action counts. By involving residents, we build a strong network of urban bird protectors.
Volunteer Training Sessions
Rescuing and rehabilitating birds requires skill and dedication. At AWCS, we conduct training sessions for volunteers who wish to contribute to wildlife conservation. Volunteers learn safe rescue techniques, first aid for injured birds, and how to support long-term rehabilitation efforts.

Together, we can create a city where humans and birds coexist in harmony. At Animal Warriors Conservation Society, our mission is simple yet powerful—conservation begins with awareness, and awareness begins with you.
