Disaster Animal Response

Our mission is to rescue animals in need, mitigate human-animal conflict, and foster awareness about wildlife and environmental conservation within communities.

Disasters — whether natural or man-made — cause unimaginable suffering to animals. While people are often evacuated to safety, countless animals are left behind, struggling to survive without food, water, or shelter. Many drown in floods, get stranded in storms, suffer burns in forest fires, or starve during prolonged crises.

Disaster Animal Rescues

At Animal Warriors Conservation Society (AWCS), we lead Disaster Animal Rescue and Relief Operations to ensure that no animal is left behind. Our mission is to save lives, reduce suffering, and restore dignity to animals caught in emergencies.

Natural Disaster Rescues

  • Flood Animal Rescues – Saving cattle, dogs, cats, and wildlife stranded in rising waters.
  • Cyclone & Storm Response – Rescuing animals trapped in collapsed shelters and flooded fields.
  • Emergency Relief – Providing food, clean water, shelter, and veterinary care to rescued animals..
  • Relocation & Rehabilitation – Moving animals to safe zones and rehabilitating the injured before release.

Unnatural Disaster Response

  • Gas Leaks – Rescuing and treating animals affected by toxic exposure.
  • Forest Fires – Saving wildlife from fire-affected zones and rehabilitating the injured.
  • Fire Accidents – Saving animals from buildings which are fire affected.
  • Oil Spills – Helping birds and marine animals entangled in polluted waters.

COVID-19 Lockdown Feeding Program

During the COVID-19 lockdown, thousands of street animals were left hungry with no access to food due to closed markets and empty streets. AWCS launched an emergency animal feeding program, distributing food and water daily to stray dogs, cats, cattle, and birds, ensuring survival through months of crisis.

Disaster animal rescues are about more than saving lives — they are about protecting biodiversity, preserving rural livelihoods, and promoting compassion in society. By stepping in during floods, cyclones, gas leaks, oil spills, forest fires, and even the pandemic, AWCS ensures that vulnerable animals are never forgotten in times of crisis.
