Our Ocean Warriors team rescued an Olive Ridley Sea Turtle on shore with two of the flippers severely damaged. The turtle was sent to Tree Foundation rehab center for further treatment by the guidelines of the Forest Department.
Olive Ridley Sea Turtle is a Vulnerable Species that come to coast of India to nest. Plastics especially Ghost Nets pose severe threat to these turtles in the sea. Most of them die if stuck in nets , very few of them may survive with lost flippers or other injuries. Animal Warriors Conservation Society is working hard to spread awareness among the public in the protection of these amazing species.
Olive Ridley Sea Turtle is protected by under Schedule 1 of Wildlife Protection Act 1972
